Getting Started

From signup to your first participant playing โ€” about 15 minutes total. No special equipment beyond a computer and a webcam.

What you'll need

  • A computer running Chrome (Windows, Mac, or ChromeOS)
  • A standard webcam โ€” built-in laptop camera is fine, USB webcam works too
  • A monitor or TV at least 27" (32" or larger recommended for the training station)
  • A center email address you can open โ€” we send a verification link to it
  • About 15 minutes

Step 1 โ€” Create your account and verify your email

Cogame signup form with center info, admin info, and Start Free Trial button
The signup form: center information (including time zone) at the top, your admin account below.
  1. Go to cogame.ai/signup.
  2. Enter your center info: name, address, phone, and time zone (we detect it from your browser โ€” check it, since daily stats and training days are cut at midnight in this zone).
  3. Enter your admin info: name, email, password. This becomes the Owner account โ€” the one person with full access, including billing. You can invite other staff later.
  4. Click Start Free Trial. We send a verification email to the address you entered. Open it and click the link โ€” until you do, signing in shows "Please check your email to confirm your account."
  5. The link signs you in and shows a short three-step welcome (nothing to fill in). Click Go to dashboard.
  6. The first time the dashboard opens you're asked to accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy on behalf of your center. Only the Owner can accept; staff who sign in before that see the same page and wait.

After the verification link: a three-step welcome. Nothing to fill in โ€” read it and click Go to dashboard.

First time in the dashboard: the Owner reads and accepts the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for the center. Once.
The trial: 7 days, no credit card, up to 5 participants. You only enter payment details if you choose to continue after it ends.
In Singapore, Cogame is provided through our local partner. The signup page will point you to them โ€” they set your center up and you receive an invitation email instead of creating an account yourself.

Step 2 โ€” Know the two screens

Cogame has two screens, and knowing which is which saves most first-day confusion:

  • Admin dashboard at /admin โ€” for staff. Participants, analytics, reports, team, billing. This is where you land after signup.
  • Training station at /play โ€” for participants. The "Who's playing today?" screen, the games, and the camera.

Getting from one to the other: in the admin dashboard, click Training Station at the bottom of the left sidebar (or type cogame.ai/play). On the training station, the Admin button in the top-right corner takes staff back to the dashboard. Both use the same login โ€” sign in once on the station PC and it stays signed in.

Step 3 โ€” Add your first participant

From the training station at /play, tap the highlighted Add Senior card to open the form.
  1. On the training station (/play), tap the dashed + Add Senior card at the end of the row. The same form is in the dashboard under Seniors โ†’ Add Senior.
  2. Fill in the form. First name is the only required field โ€” the rest can be added later.
Add New Senior form: First name, Last name, Birth Year, Gender, Game Language, and Accessibility settings (Usable Hand, Dominant Hand, Mobility Aid)
The Add New Senior form. First name is the only required field; set Game Language here so games and narration speak the participant's language.
  • Nickname โ€” what they actually answer to ("Danny" for Daniel). Voice mode matches on this, so fill it in if it differs from the first name.
  • Birth year only โ€” we never ask for a full date of birth.
  • Preferred language โ€” games, narration, and the station speak this language for them.
  • Accessibility โ€” usable hand, dominant hand, mobility aid. Games shift and judge differently based on these, so it's worth getting right.
  • Consent form on file โ€” tick it once your center holds the signed participant consent. It doesn't block anything; it's your own record.

Avatars are friendly cartoon faces generated automatically โ€” no photos are stored. See the Admin Guide for editing and archiving.

Step 4 โ€” Set up the training station

The training station is the screen the participant plays on. Most centers use a TV connected to a PC.

Camera placement guide: webcam at chest height above the monitor, senior 3โ€“6 ft away, with examples of a good frame (head + shoulders + arms visible) and a too-low camera (arms cut off).
Recommended layout: webcam centered above the screen at the senior's chest height, 3โ€“6 ft (1โ€“2m) viewing distance.
  1. Connect the PC to the TV via HDMI. Mirror or extend the display.
  2. Set resolution to 1920ร—1080.
  3. Position the webcam centered above or below the screen.
  4. Open Chrome, go to cogame.ai/login, and sign in with any staff account.
  5. Click Training Station in the sidebar (or go to /play). Allow the camera when Chrome asks โ€” once per PC โ€” then press F11 for fullscreen.

For camera height, lighting, and a locked-down kiosk launch, see the Training Station Setup guide.

Step 5 โ€” Run a first session

Cogame /play profile selection screen showing senior avatars to choose from
The participant screen at /play. Each participant taps their own card (or staff taps it for them).

Everything after the first tap is hands-free โ€” participants never need a mouse.

Today's Training screen listing three games โ€” Traffic Light, Ball Tracking, Hangman โ€” with a Start Training button counting down from 5 seconds
One tap on their card and this appears: three games picked for them, starting by itself after a 5-second countdown.
  1. The participant taps their own card (or staff taps it for them). This opens Today's Training: three games chosen for them across different cognitive areas, which starts by itself after a 5-second countdown.
  2. Each game opens with a short tutorial they follow by moving โ€” a hand or an arm, depending on the game โ€” then the real round begins.
  3. Between games a results screen shows stars and the next game, and moves on by itself. After the third game a summary shows the day's stars, then the screen returns to the participant list for the next person.
  4. If they step away mid-game, the station pauses after 3 minutes and shows "Are you still there?" โ€” when they step back in front of the camera, it carries on by itself.
A paused game showing a card that reads 'Are you still there? Step in front of the camera and your game will carry on by itself.' with a progress bar and a small Resume button
Stepped away? The game waits with this card and resumes on its own once someone is back in front of the camera for two seconds.

Scores sync to the admin dashboard automatically. Tapping a finished participant's card again offers the same training a second time โ€” repeating is allowed and often requested.

Staff only โ€” choosing a specific game: the small โ‹ฏ button in the corner of a participant's card opens their hub with the full library of 16 games. Participants don't need it; the big card is enough.

Step 6 โ€” Voice mode (Premium)

Voice mode lets a participant check in by saying their name instead of finding their card โ€” handy for large groups and for anyone who finds the card wall hard to scan. It's part of the Premium plan, so the button doesn't appear during the trial.

From the participant screen, tap the Voice button to switch into voice mode.
Cogame voice mode screen โ€” camera disabled, ready to start a spoken session
Voice mode: staff enable the camera once. After that it watches for someone walking up and starts asking by itself โ€” no taps.
  1. From /play, tap the Voice button in the top bar. The first time, staff click Enable camera once.
  2. When a participant walks up, the station asks "What's your name?" and listens. They say their name โ€” first name or the nickname you saved.
  3. Once matched, they go straight into Today's Training, the same as tapping their card. If two people match, the station shows both and staff tap the right one.
