Getting Started

From signup to your first senior playing a game — about 10 minutes total. No special equipment beyond a computer and a webcam.

What you'll need

  • A computer running Chrome (Windows, Mac, or ChromeOS)
  • A standard webcam — built-in laptop camera is fine, USB webcam works too
  • A monitor or TV at least 27" (32" or larger recommended for the training station)
  • A center email address you can verify
  • About 10 minutes

Step 1 — Create your account

Cogame signup form with center info, admin info, and Start Free Trial button
The signup form: enter center info on the left, your admin account info on the right.
  1. Go to cogame.ai/signup.
  2. Enter your center info: name, address, phone. This becomes your organization in Cogame.
  3. Enter your admin info: name, email, password. This is the staff account that will sign in.
  4. Click Start Free Trial. We send a verification email — click the link to activate your account.
Note: The 7-day free trial doesn't require a credit card. You only enter payment info if you choose to continue after the trial ends.

Step 2 — Add your first senior

From the training station at /play, tap the highlighted Add Senior card to open the form.
  1. On the training station, go to /play (the "Who's playing today?" screen).
  2. Tap the dashed + Add Senior card on the right side of the row.
  3. Fill in the form: first name, last name, birth year, gender, and accessibility (usable hand, dominant hand, mobility aid).
Add New Senior modal: First name, Last name, Birth Year, Gender, and Accessibility settings (Usable Hand, Dominant Hand, Mobility Aid)
The Add New Senior form. First name is the only required field — the rest can be filled in later.
  1. (Optional) Pick an avatar (we use friendly cartoon avatars instead of real photos).
  2. (Optional) Set accessibility preferences: dominant hand, mobility aid, preferred difficulty. The platform adapts game positioning and judging based on these.
  3. Save. The new card appears in the row alongside the others.

This is the simplest workflow because staff are already on the station screen at session start. You can also add seniors from the admin dashboard at /admin/seniors — same form, just a different entry point. See the Admin Guide for bulk add and editing.

Step 3 — Set up the training station

The training station is the screen the senior plays on. Most centers use a TV connected to a PC, or an all-in-one touchscreen.

Camera placement guide: webcam at chest height above the monitor, senior 3–6 ft away, with examples of a good frame (head + shoulders + arms visible) and a too-low camera (arms cut off).
Recommended layout: webcam centered above the screen at the senior's chest height, 3–6 ft (1–2m) viewing distance.
  1. Connect the PC to the TV via HDMI. Mirror or extend the display.
  2. Set resolution to 1920×1080.
  3. Position the webcam centered above or below the screen.
  4. Open Chrome and go to https://cogame.ai/login. Sign in with your admin account.
  5. Once signed in, navigate to /play. Press F11 for fullscreen.

For a more detailed walkthrough including camera height and lighting, see the Training Station Setup guide.

Step 4 — Run a first session

The profile selection screen at /play. Each senior taps their own card (or staff selects for them).
  1. On the training station, the senior sees a profile selection screen. They tap their own avatar (or staff selects for them).
  2. They're shown the game library with 16 games organized by cognitive area.
  3. Pick a game (we recommend Memory Sequence as a first game).
  4. The game runs through a short tutorial, then starts the actual round.
  5. When done, results show up: stars, score, accuracy. The score syncs to your admin dashboard automatically.

Step 5 — Try voice mode

Some seniors find the camera-based games tiring, or simply prefer talking. Cogame includes a voice mode where the senior answers spoken questions instead of moving in front of a camera — useful for quieter sessions, low-mobility seniors, or as a warm-up.

From the profile selection screen, tap the Voice button to switch into voice mode.
Cogame voice mode screen — camera disabled, ready to start a spoken session
Voice mode runs without the camera. The senior just listens and speaks their answers.
  1. From /play, tap the Voice button in the top bar.
  2. Pick the senior's profile, then choose a voice activity.
  3. The senior answers out loud — Cogame transcribes responses and scores them the same way as camera games.
